Ebook Central contains a small collection of individual Ebooks purchased by the library.
If you are using a screen reader, the option to turn accessibility mode on or off gets read out by your screen reader. Once turned on the interface changes to a text-based view.
Sign in to Ebook Central to turn on the accessibility mode.
To Sign in
If you are off campus you have already signed in using your college account. You can read the ebooks.
This second sign in is to access more features and to be able to turn on the accessibility features.
- Click Bookshelf
- Click Settings and then click the profile link
- Input email address and select preferred referencing style. If in doubt choose Harvard.
Scroll down and then choose whichever accessibility features you want turned on.
You can now enable the accessibility mode.
You can now turn on the OpenDyslexic typeface for the interface.
Make sure you save your changes.
There might be an issue if you logged in in off campus and wish to login on campus with the same email address. Let us know if you run into any problems.
Ebook central was Ebrary, and we used to subscribe to the whole database.
Ebrary no longer exists. We buy individual ebooks from Proquest which Ebook Central hosts.
