In Ebook Central you can start highlighting as soon as you open the ebook.
For ebooks supplied by EBSCO, once you are signed in, you can save an ebook to your folder and make notes to it.
This applies whether you are accessing the ebook through EOLAS or through eBook Academic Collection (EBSCOHost).
