The default library search covers a number of our databases plus the library catalogue. Due to a national installation of software throughout the IT System, this is being changed and a new default search Discover IT will appear from the 1st of May.
There may be some issues related to preparatory work to get the new default search installed. Our apologies for this.
The important point to remember is that all of the databases may still be searched individually. When you go on the library web page, instead of typing your search into the default search box, click the blue "Databases" link. There is a drop down menu of individual databases available but for a clearer explanation and more information on each databases, click "More Info and Guides" under the search box. Here you will see each database listed with a brief description of the contents. Databases such as Academic Search Complete and Business Source Complete contain many of the ejournals you are used to searching through the main library search. As part of the list of databases, there are links to Quick Start guides for each of these databases.
If you are having difficulty finding books, you could try Ebook Central from the list of databases, or also go to the main library web page and click the blue "Catalogue" link which lists all print books in the library as well as some individual ebooks.
Finally, if there are particular titles you can't access, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we'll attempt to locate copies of the full text for you.
