To access sciencedirect the correct way you go to the library website:
https://library.itsligo.ie, click a-z of databases, and click on the database title you wish to access. Login with your moodle/campus login.
the reason you are not getting the ebooks in sciencedirect is that we don't subscribe to them. We only subscribe to the ScienceDirect Freedom Collection which includes journals in full text since 1995. This is actually a common question we get asked. Another example is OECD iLibrary, we only subscribe to the education section from that database. We get 1 journal from Taylor and Francis and people ask why they can't access all the other content in the Taylor and Francis database.
When you use the advanced search in Science Direct you can limit to journals that we subscribe to using the advanced search link. You can even limit to the type of article you want. review article can be useful for example to read a review of the literature.
Don't forget you can just email us or reply to me and book a help tutorial with us, we can either do a face to face tutorial or we can use Adobe Connect for an online help tutorial if you are off campus. Im here till 9pm on a Wednesday.
The other thing you could do is use the Eolas search, (big search on library homepage) we have that locked down to just full text resources. Hope this helps.
Another way to see what you have access to in SD is to click on the journals link at the top and see the coverage.
