About Ebook Central e-books
The library subscribes to a product called Ebrary which is an e-books database. As of October 2015 there are one hundred twenty-six thousand nine hundred seventy-five e-books in Ebook Central, so it's a fantastic resource!
How do get these ebooks?
There are 2 different ways to access the books, either use the database dropdown menu on the library webpage, or do a summon search and narrow your search.
Method 1: Summon Search
Do a search in Summon, and then limit to ebooks by ticking books/ebooks and full text online. Click on the title of the book to open it in Ebook Central. If you are off campus put in your campus login details.
You can then read the book online.
Method 2: Ebook Central Database Search
Click on the databases tab on the library website. Select Ebook Central from the dropdown menu and click Go. Perform your e-book search in Ebook Central or browse.
Your Ebook Central Account
Ebook central uses single sign on and should recognise your details from your computer login (on campus) or your ezproxy login (off campus).
You will have to move your bookshelf from ebrary as a once off process. If you did not have a bookshelf in ebrary you do not need to do this. The instructions on how to do this are very clear on the website. Just click on the login or bookshelf button and the instructions will walk you through the process.
